Stop by Gaines street Pies for lunch while in Tallahassee. 1st love the theme of this pizza establishment using comic book theme in their decor and for the menu. You order at the cashier and they will bring it to the table. The pizza's are divided by heroes and villains which I nerded out over. We ordered the honey pigs and metal Mike pizza with a side of garlic knots. All three were awesome! Great flavors from both pizza's. Definitely would recommend.

Popped in one night to grab a late night bite. The guy taking our order was super nice and knowledgeable on the menu. When I asked for some recommendations he said for what I mentioned in passing he'd think I'd like the white album pizza (I said I didn't eat meat). Decided to trust him and go with that pie and it was pretty tasty. Loved the design of the restaurant with the comic book/anime feel. I'm really picky with pizza since I'm for New Jersey, but I'd pop back in here for another late night bite.

This is a little hole in the wall pizza joint near the Florida A&M campus. There is limited parking available in restaurants private lot. The restaurant offers carry-out or dine-in. They have a decent sized dining areas. There is a full bar with seating. The restaurant has a classic and generic superhero theme. There are a few colorful cartoon murals in one of the dining areas and both of the dining areas look kind of old and out dated. You will also find televisions in the dining area. They had Beetlejuice playing while I was there. Which I found odd because it was Sunday. I would have expected football to be on. The restaurant is colocated and connected to the Warhorse Whiskey Bar. You can walk freely between the two restaurants, without going outside, by use a small connecting corridor. Even though my interaction with them was limited, the staff was friendly enough. They offer calzones, pizzas and salads. I went with the Honey I Shrunk The Pigs Pizza (they had me at honey). It took them about 15 minutes for them to prepare my pie. It was fresh hot and so delicious. I want honey on all my pizzas now. It really complimented the pie's ingredients very well and set it off. The jalapeños were a bit hot, bordering on being too hot. I will note that they did not have any lids that fit my drink cup. I know it is minor though me is definitely not a deal breaker. Don't let the restaurant's interior fool you. They have some amazing food here. I am still dreaming of that pie as I type this review. This restaurant is open late and I highly recommend checking them out.

Love this joint. Very different kinds of pizza here but the flavors that emanate from these masterpieces are euphoric. I had the hummus plate and just wow. You order at the counter, take a number and wait briefly for you mean. Has a bar as well. More college student set up than family but still incredible pies. The folks at the counter are nice, greets you with a smile and very helpful deciding which combo to get. A must stop grubbery for sure. Remember, support your local eateries so we both do t starve...

The newest Gaines Street Pies is just fabulous. I had previously gone to another of this chain, and meh, the food was substandard at best. Fortunately at this location, it seems they're doing something right. The food is actually good! We passed by last Friday to meet up with some friends. We dined in and the tables were all full of comic book designs. I had an old coworker who did this on the side and I just kept thinking she would love to see this or have the job herself. That said, the ambiance of this location is quite spacious. You don't feel cramped in there. Plus, with Ology next door, this is a great hangout because you get food in one place, drinks in another. Mind you, they sell some beer and cider at Gaines Street Pies, so you're fine either way if you want a drink. Anyhow, we split a pie. His had a bunch of meat, mind had some chicken and bell peppers and onions since I'm a simple gal that way. Friends had a salad and a calzone. The calzone was massive, so much so I'm surprised he managed to eat it all. Would I return? To this location, yes; to the other of this chain, meh - do I have to?
